Live Broadcast Your Business With Qik & Your iPhone

Just when you thought reality TV couldn’t get any better – a new service now allows you to broadcast live video through your iPhone to the web. Though Qik is a free program and corresponding free web service that requires you have jailbroken your iphone, and even though it sucks up plenty of battery life, it’s still well worth it.

I’m still working on just how I’m going to use the service beyond broadcasting the random stuff that goes on at business school.  However, I think there are plenty of opportunities that businesses can pounce on with Qik….

  • How about a cheap, easy way to live broadcast your big announcements?
  • Enable your sales team to gather great video-testimonials?
  • Annoy the IT guys by turning service calls into a game show?

Qik also allows you to view live feeds from other users including a seemingly endless stream of cool random shots on their homepage. As I mentioned; up until now, most of my videos have been pretty random.  Just in case though, I’ve set my own live portal for marketingdiner’s own Qik feed:

Expect to see some cool stuff broadcast from time to time, particularly when I am out on the town here in Nashville. I’ll also make sure to give people a heads-up via twitter if I’m going to record something really cool, like b-school graduation.

To check it our and sign up for Qik – visit their web site. If you need to jailbreak your iPhone so you can get this, try out QuickPWN.
